THIS IS BUCKSHOT SPEEDWAY'S OFFICIAL STANDARD LATE MODEL CLASS RULESET. YOUR CAR MUST LEGALY MEET THESE STANDARDS AND DEMINSIONS IN ORDER TO PASS TECH INSPECTIONS. IF YOUR CAR IS NOT WITHIN OUR ASSIGNED RULESET STANDARDS, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, NO MATTER YOUR FINISHING RACE POSITION.

 

IF SOMETHING IS NOT MENTIONED IN THIS RULESET, WE DO NOT ALLOW IT!

  • All cars are subject to inspection by Buckshot Speedway at any time during the event.

  • Buckshot Speedway reserves the right to alter or amend these rules at any time in the interest of fair competition.​

ENGINES AND WEIGHT:​

  1. All steel, Flat Top, Flat Tappet Sportsman. Non-Ported Head. Max of 362CI. 2300lbs

  2. All Steel, 23° Head or 10° Ford Head. Dome Pistons OK! Ported Head OK! Max of 362CI. 2350lbs

  3. All Steel block, any Steel or Aluminum 23° head Roller OK, Dome Pistons OK, Ported head OK, Raised Runner head OK! Max of 362CI. 2400lb

  4. Aluminum Block, 23degree Aluminum Ported Heads. 2400lbs with 50lbs in front of Bell Housing.

  5. ANY OF THE ABOVE COMBINATIONS OVER 362CI MUST ADD 50LBS!

  6. SAS/Super Legal Spec Engine. 2350lbs

  7. Sealed GM525 @ 377CI can not P&G over 380CI. Must follow GM Guidelines. 2350lbs with 50lbs in front of Bell Housing.

  8. Sealed 604 Engine OK. 2200lbs

  9. *****NO FUEL BURN OFF*****

  10. All cars are subject to P&G and Borescope.

  11. Correct weight must be posted on/above the driver’s side front window post!

  12. Claiming incorrect weight/motor combination will result in immediate disqualification

  13. All posted weights MUST be correct for the engine you have in your car, No Exceptions!

ENGINE SET BACK

  1. A maximum of 6” from center of top ball joint to the most forward spark plug hole, 1” tolerance 

​

FUEL/FUEL CELL

  1. All cars must have a Fuel Cell Tip Valve installed in case of rollover!

  2. Fuel cell with steel can & 2” steel straps mounted in rear of car only.

  3. Gas or E85 only! No alcohol, Nitrous Oxide, Nitro Methane or any other Nitrate additives.

TRANSMISSION

  1. All transmissions must be fully functional with both forward and reverse gears.

​

DRIVE SHAFTS

  1. All drive shafts must be a minimum 2” in diameter.

  2. All drive shafts must be painted white.

  3. Only one drive shaft is permitted.

  4. All drive shafts must be protected with a secure drive shaft hoop or sling.

​

REAREND/REAR AXLE

  1. Any type of rear end /differential permitted.

  2. Aluminum tubes are OK.

  3. Wide 5 hubs allowed.

  4. No independent rear suspension permitted.

​

STEERING

  1. Any/All racing style racks permitted (Appleton, Sweet, etc,,.)

​

BRAKES

  1. Must be equipped with enough four wheel braking system.

  2. On track, three -wheel braking is allowed.

  3. Any type steel brakes allowed.

  4. No Titanium or Carbon Fiber brake rotors permitted.

​

WHEELS/TIRES

  1. ** All Tires are subject to track Durometer**

  2. Hoosier 1350 / 1600 or American Racer 44/48/56.

  3. Wheels may be steel or aluminum 14” max. wide.

  4. Bead Locks Permitted.

  5. No Chemical Treating Allowed.

CHASSIS/FRAMES

  1. Both Rectangle and Square Tubed Frames are Legal.

  2. It is recommended that all cars be equipped with a tow hook or strap.

  3. All battery supports must be braced in two axis –(two horizontal & one vertical.)

​

SQUARE TUBE FRAMES

The frame of all cars must be constructed of 2" by 2" minimum rectangular or square tubing with a minimum of 8" circumference and a minimum of .083" wall thickness.

​

ROUND TUBE FRAMES

  1. The frame of all cars must be constructed of a minimum of 1-3/4" round tubing and must have a wall thickness of .083" inches minimum.

  2. No aluminum or titanium frames permitted in construction of car.

  3. If rear bumper is stubbed, it may only extend a maximum of 8" inches beyond frame. Any stubbed rear bumpers that extend 8" inches or more beyond frame must be rounded and directed towards the front of the car.

  4. Deck width of car may be no wider than 73 inches.

  5. Tubular bumpers allowed.

BODY

  1. All Lucas Oil Series body rules apply!

  2. Standard Dirt Style body required with a stock looking nose.

  3. Rear deck height maximum 39”, (No Tolerance).

  4. Spoilers: Maximum 8” of height & 72” of width, no more than 3 spoiler supports may be used.

  5. Wheel base must be 103” minimum.

SAFETY

  1. Must have Racing Seat that is SFI Certified!

  2. Must be mounted with grade 5 or better 4 bolts minimum hardware.

  3. Must have 5-point safety belts NO MORE THAN 2 YEARS OLD. (Any Car without Updated Belts will NOT Race, NO EXCEPTIONS).

  4. All cars must have a fully charged Fire Extinguisher mounted within reach of driver.

  5. Firewall: A full metal firewall must encompass the front, rear, sides and floor of the driver.

TIRE PROTEST

  1. Cost is a $200.00 Non-refundable fee!

  2. If the tire is found to be illegal the driver must pay a $500.00 fine to the track before being allowed to race again. (Prize money will be held during all protest}

​

ENGINE PROTEST

  1. $500.00 -  Top End/Cubic Inch tech for Flat Top Built Engine, $250.00 goes to the track, the remainder goes to the winner of the protest.

  2. $200.00 – To P&G any engine.

  3. All Protest money is non-refundable, Anyone found illegal will be disqualified from the event & receive no prize money.

  4. For any protest, the car being protested & driver protesting must finish in the top 5.

  5. During protest, driver, car owner or mechanic (driver’s choice) & track officials will be allowed to be present.

ALL RULES ARE ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE! IF YOU DECIDE TO PROTEST, WAIT AFTER THE CHECKERED FLAG HAS DROPED AT THE END OF THE FEATURED RACE!
